Free iPhone backgrounds by contra!

I have created some free backgrounds, for now just a free background, for the Iphone's new os which allows custom background on the springboard as well as the welcome screen (it was about time). You may use these backgrounds for any phone you wish they are 640 by 960pixels in size. Please be sure to check back as I will be adding new ones very shortly:)
(from computer)To download simply right click the image, choose save image as, and save. If you are browsing directly from your phone then click the image (on iphone) keep your finger on the image until options are displayed the first option is save image choose this. The image can be found in your photo album, and can be set as a background via the settings app on the phone. Thanks for downloading and enjoy.

The Bird with the Dr Dre headphones

Here is my latest digital print, the composition just kind of came to me in a dream and fell in place. The bird is wearing clothing based on Christian Dior, fifi lapin, and Louis Vuitton, as well as signature Dr Dre headphones.

This accessory turned out rather well. I put out the money for some really high end paint pens, I ended up dropping 200+ on these pens but the results are awesome!
One more suggestion wash your munny with some kind of de-greasing detergent before you paint.

Munny mania II

Here is my first attempt at painting a munny. Started out with the accessories and THANK GOD because decocolor xylene based paint pens are not good for painting on porous surfaces such as vinyl. However they work like a charm on smooth plastics check out my Contra blog http://ccontrac.com.
This hairpiece accessory is painted using decocolor but I had to top it with a clear coat because it would not dry, the parts where I used sharpie smudged a bit but for the rest it actually turned out presentable. That was just lucky because often the topcoat may contain solvents that melt your paint (never a good look). My suggestion is always do your research before attempting any type of craft, but take it from me never ever use oil based paint on porous vinyl, some things you just learn the hard way.

In Loving memory of my stomp box project... which went oh so very wrong

So the exhibit at the museum of making music Carlsbad CA went not so well for me and my product in the exhibit. I wont name names but when a company decides to do a work pro bono they should take it just as seriously and professionally as any other job, this was not the case. Long story short the stomp boxes did not come out as beautifully as anticipated and the result was somewhat of an embarrassment for me. It's all part of the hard work us artists must face.
